Butterfly Cave

Domestic tourists are attracted to this site because the name relates to an old Chinese tale. Most foreign visitors give it a miss as the huge butterfly outside looks kitsch rather than cool.

That said, there is a butterfly enclosure inside, which is nice to see if you if you like butterflies, and which is particularly suitable for younger children.

Consider stopping by on your way to another site (Moon Hill, Silver Cave etc.) especially if the weather is wet. This site has the huge advantage of being mostly covered over.

Come on a bike ride

The Butterfly cave is one of those sights which you may want to stop at on the way to/from Moon Hill

Public bus

The butterfly cave is on the main road between Yangshuo and Gaotian 高田. A local bus should charge 2 Yuan

Private Vehicle

If you have a car for the day, then you can stop here whilst visiting places like Moon Hill
