Kayaking

Kayaking is another fun activity on the Li  River; one that is suitable for most ages.

You will be transferred to the start point at Fuli and can then take your own time to get to your chosen endpoint. Typically, this is Liugong about 7Km downstream.

The paddling requires no great skill and is not too arduous. You can drift with the current at times. Most finish this route in about 2 hours.

You should take protection from the sun (cover your head, arms and legs) and plenty of fluids. You will have to think carefully about taking a camera. You do not run a great risk of turning over but sometimes it is better not to tempt fate.

A transfer back to town is inlcuded but If you plan carefully it would be possible to change activity at Liugong (or another endpoint) and return to Yangshuo by bike or other means. You might hike for a bit and then catch public transport. Just do not assume you have to go back with the kayaks.
