Yulong Bridge - 龙桥 - Yulong Qiao

This
400 year old bridge is located in a beautiful setting. It is also the location
for bamboo raft rides.
You can get here easily on
bike, taking in towns like Ima which are on the banks on the Yulong river. A
bike ride along here is one of our favorite days out. We definitely recommend you
come to visit this bridge and incorporate it into a bike ride.
There is a very
good village road leading from Yangshuo to here. Along the way you will be going
through small villages and past rice paddies and then you will be following
the banks of the Yu Long river. Very special indeed.
If it is too hot or wet for a bike ride, or you don't have the time or the inclination, then you can take a taxi via the main Guilin road. It would be worth incorporating other sites/stops so as to make at least a half day trip.
If you want, you can then
do a relaxing bamboo raft trip for an hour or two down the river before heading back to Yangshuo.
If you fancy a swim, then we recommend the Yulong over the Li River. It is generally much cleaner. You can get down to suitable spots at many points. Just take care when swimming near the weirs. There are some nasty currents, especailly when the water is high.

How to get here
Come on a bike ride
One of the better bike rides and much less touristy than rides to Moon Hill, is the bike ride following the Yulong River to the bridge. You still the beautiful countryside and the small villages but you don't get the hordes of people and cars going towards Moon Hill. Take the same ride from Yangshuo to Yima, but stay on the road and follow the Yulong River all the way to the Yulong bridge. There are many small towns along the way
Hire a car
If you feel that the bike ride would be too long, then just take a private vehicle to the Yulong Bridge. The driver can take to the bridge where you can take your photos, walk around the town and then take a ride on a bamboo raft. The driver could then pick you up where the raft would drop you off
