in a very quiet and lovely area, far away from to the too noisy and ugly Yangshuo city.
Chinese members of staff are extremely kind, helpful and most of them speak a very good English ! (the Dutch owners were not there when we stayed)
The restaurant is also very good. And having lunch or dinner at this lovely place is just amazing, between this former farm's walls and surrounded by hills. Continue reading..
They also provide all kind of services : bicycle rental, tours, transfers to train station or to Guilin.
Just one bad thing : as this place is mainly targeting western clients, some rates are higher than the average (bicycle for example)
Quick enjoy this place before too much modern Chinese hotels are built in surroundings (and before they ruin everyth View Less...

d farm house. Great service standards and housekeeping. We had several meals and found the food delicious especially Chinese dishes which are by far the best we had in Yangshuo
The tour experiences offered are excellent and prices reasonable so would recommend to leave it in their good hands. Continue reading..

Date: 8th of Sep, 2019 - The Giggling Tree is worth your trip to China all by itself! - 5/5 on Tripadvisor
e just returned to Guilin after two nights at The Giggling Tree in Yongshuo, and I'm asking myself, was this place for real?? First of all... *every* single staff member is about as friendly and helpful as you can get. These folks really know what HOSPITALITY means. And talk about convenience--> Christine (who immediately replied to our booking request on their site) set up our whole itinerary in getting there from our hostel in Guilin: she arranged our bus to take us to the boat cruise down the Li River (which she also set up) and had a driver waiting for us at the dock. And after 3 glorious days at the inn, they also arranged for our car back to Guilin. And we were able to pay for all of that with one credit card transaction at the very end, which i really appreciated.
And let's talk about the setting of The Giggling Tree. Unbelievable. Almost surreal. The Yulong river is a 5 minute walk away, and just beyond that is a frontage of karsts (which surround the whole village really) behind which we enjoyed a sunset for the record books. Watching the moon go down in the same spot later that night right next to Jupiter was pretty epic as well. The next day we sat in the pool gazing at those same mountains which seemed like you could almost reach out and touch them, and we realized that as much as we have left to explore in this incredible and vast Middle Kingdom, this is one place we will DEFINITELY be coming back to. 多谢 to all of you there who treated us so warmly and kind View Less...
Date: 30th of Aug, 2019 - Great location, dirty pool and expensive drinks - 3/5 on Tripadvisor
e that a lot of new buildings are build right in front, behind and next to the giggling tree. Staff is really nice and helpfull.
It is nice to have every day a lot of bottels of water in the room. The room is nice, big and clean.
Also it is great to be able to order pancakes for the kids and chat with all the dutch people (feels like a dutch invasion). Continue reading..
It is a lot of fun to relax and drive a scooter in the area.
The drinks however are more expensive than in the rest of China (beer is 20 yuan and a coke is 12, however the Chinese restaurant in front of the giggling Sells beer for 8 yuan and a coke for 5. The swimming pool was really dirty (even the old dutch owners that came by where dissapointed that this was neglected this way) and this was probably the worst we had seen anywhere in C View Less...

Perfect location, great staff and food. Hire the electric scooters or bikes to get around easily. Really recommend this place as the Yulong area is stunning, so much better than saying in Yangshuo town.
Date: 9th of Aug, 2019 - Not so good - 2/5 on Tripadvisor
I’m choosing a bad mark because it’s not so crazy as told in the comments.
The food is good, the place is cool, the swimming pool too.
But it’s really expensive for China.
There are constructions just next to it so you are woken up at 7am.
There is not much light in the rooms and no views on the land. Continue reading..
The staff is nice but doesn’t really know the surroundings and tries to make you book everything from the hotel. But watch out, you’ll pay much more than if you buy everything yourself.
For example, renting electric scooters :
Giggling : 90-130 yuans per day
Surroundings : 50 yuans per day
It’s like that for everything.
So yes they speak English and that’s maybe what most people who come here appreciate but if you can manage the things on your own, just do it yourself. View Less...

This is a great hotel in beautiful surroundings. The staff are very attentive and the rooms are nice (no TVs though) but maybe due an update. Food is good and well priced. Lots of tour options from the hotel.
The hotel is no longer owned by a Dutch person.
