Guilin airport is the nearest airport to Yangshuo. The airport is approximately 95kms from Yangshuo.

Flights arrive from many Chinese cities as well as some international destinations such as Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Japan. We recommend looking online for your flights as there are many websites offering deals on flights. C-trip and qunar.com are popular with domestic travellers.

You have some options on getting to Yangshuo from Guilin Airport.

Express Bus

There is an excellent regular service running from the airport's bus station to Yangshuo. A ticket costs 50 Yuan. You need to buy the ticket from the small counter which is located at the domestic arrivals exit door. The drive takes about an hour and a half and you will be dropped off at Yangshuo's bus Station.

Private Taxi

If you want the convenience of being taken straight to your hotel, then we recommend asking your hotel to send a car to meet you on arrival (highly recommended if you have a late flight). Your hotel can arrange any size vehicle to pick you. A standard taxi will cost somewhere between 300-400 Yuan depending on your hotel's location. The price should include any tolls on the highways from the airport to Yangshuo.

Guilin airport also has a taxi rank and you can try your luck with haggling a price for the trip to Yangshuo. The only downside with getting a Guilin taxi is that the drivers do not know Yangshuo that well and may have trouble locating your hotel. Currently their 'official' rates are 350 Yuan and supposedly includes the tolls on the highways but they sometimes try to charge their customers for this on arrival in Yangshuo.

There is also the small chance of finding a Yangshuo taxi that has just dropped someone off at the airport and is looking for a paying passenger back to Yangshuo. You can get a great deal if you manage to find one of these drivers. These drivers usually hang around the arrivals area and will be touting their services.
